MUNYUMBWE
It takes a lot of convincing to get a qualified teacher to move out to Munyumbwe to work at the local school. In 2009, that teacher got malaria. In Zambia malaria is common and easily treated, if and when treatment can be reached. Unfortunately, the Munyumbwe school teacher did not reach treatment in time because the Nankoli River was swollen with flood waters and no one could pass to get the vital medicine. That won’t happen again. A bridge was built so that anytime, in any conditions, anyone can safely pass over the river.
