Bridges to Prosperity's collaboration with corporate sponsors has proven to be incredibly successful. New corporate sponsorships enable us to expand our programs and work to the benefit of local communities. These sponsors also see benifits with their bridge building engineers gaining new experience through sponsorship. Founded in 1885 and headquartered in New York City, Parsons Brinckerhoff is a leader in the development and operation of infrastructure to meet the needs of communities around the world. The firm provides strategic consulting, planning, engineering, and program and construction management services to both public and private sector clients. PB supported Bridges to Prosperity with its annual Holiday Card gift in 2007, and in 2009 started a formal strategic partnership with Bridges to Prosperity to allow it the needed growth to accomplish its 2020 goals. Those 2020 goals will see Bridges to Prosperity start a program in a new country every year (the next new country is Zambia, Africa), and through training increase worldwide footbridge production in the poor rural areas by 500 per year.

Flatiron recognizes the importance of giving back to the community, and finds its especially appropriate that they are partnering with Bridges to Prosperity in the design, training, and construction of footbridges in poor rural communities worldwide. Ross Construction is a large construction firm based in the San Francisco Bay Area that specializes in the construction of large high-density urban in-fill apartment projects. Doug Ross, CEO of Ross Construction has offered to become a primary corporate sponsor of our Honduras program in 2007-2009. During this period they will sponsor 1-2 bridges, and send down a team of their employees to erect the new suspension bridge technology being pioneered there. Virginia International Terminals, Inc., (VIT) operates the State of Virginia owned ports through a Service Agreement with the Virginia Port Authority. They manage the Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth and Front Royal terminals. They run one of the most sophisticated port operations in the world, providing a super efficient flow of traffic at the marine terminals.


Heco Slings of Norfolk Virginia provides cable, rigging, and lift support for Virginia International Terminals (VIT) and other marine, construction, military, and industrial business applications. Heco furnished cable is used at VIT to lift containers to and from the ships, rails, and trucks. VIT and Heco have jointly agreed to donate, at no cost, to 1 1/4 inch used cable from their high lift gantry cranes. This will be an ongoing donation amounting to tens of thousands of feet of cable. This donated cable is then loaded onto containers and shipped to Africa, Asia, and Latin America to be used for our suspended cable bridge programs. Heco has also donated other bridge cable installation equipment.


Crosby is a world leader in the manufacturing of accessories used in material handling applications. Crosby’s brands of Crosby®, McKissick®, Lebus®, National, Western and Bullard® have been synonymous with quality for over 100 years. Crosby® shackles, hooks and wire rope clips, as well as McKissick® lifting tackle and Lebus® load binders have long been known as the world standards. Crosbygenerously donated enough of their famous "Red U-Bolts" to build over 6 bridges in Zambia, and has further offered to provide additional wire clips to our mission below their cost.

Eric Kuhn of Leipzig Germany is CEO of Alpin Technik.He has agreed to act as sponsor of the Tres Unidos bridge in Peru. Eric traveled in early 2006 to perform the needed survey. Following completion of a preliminary design, Eric has agreed to find the needed financial sponsors for the bridge, and then return with a team to direct the actual construction. In the US, Ferguson is ranked by trade publications as the largest distributor of plumbing supplies and pipes, valves, and fittings. Ferguson is also the third largest distributor of heating and cooling equipment (HVAC). Ferguson, a subsidiary of UK based Woseley PLC, is headquartered in Newport News, Virginia.
Ferguson has donated both the software and support to make it possible for Bridges to Prosperity to effectively hold no cost quarterly board meetings. This donation has further made it possible for us to strengthen our board by including supporters from all over the world.

Distagage.com is a leading distibutor of Laser Measuring technology. They have donated Trimble Spectra Precision HD150 laser measuring devices to Bridges To Prosperity for determining bridge span measurements in the field, especially when rivers are too dangerous to pull a tape measure across.
