Bridge Story: The Auburn United Methodist Church and their partner SIFAT have been doing mission work in the high Andes Quechua village of Quesimpuco for 10 years. They have built a school (with dormitories), a community center, a clinic, power systems, and a church.

Quesimpuco sits in the high Andes at 12,000 feet. 4,000 feet below the town in a giant gorge is a monster river . . . a tributary to the Mamore Grande that runs all the way to Brazil and the Amazon. Currently, villagers cross to the other side of the river on a very old mining cable on a dangerous gondola. This is one of the most incredible river crossings in the world. With a bridge, not only will the villagers get to cross safely, but they will now be able to take their animals across. This bridge will bring many new opportunities for these people, especially access to new farmland and grazing land previously inaccessible on the other side.
